SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL), today announced that its Co-founder, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Sehat Sutardja, has been named the recipient of the University of California, Berkeley's Outstanding Alumnus Award in Electrical Engineering. The award presentation took place during the Berkeley Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Annual Research Symposium 2012.
"Through his engineering achievements, activism and support, Dr. Sehat Sutardja has made invaluable contributions to UC Berkeley and to the field of electrical engineering," said Professor S. Shankar Sastry, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. "An active and influential member of the College's Engineering Advisory Board, Dr. Sutardja continues to provide counsel on issues of overriding importance to engineering education, research and service to global society and industry. Dr. Sutardja, who received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 1988, holds more than 260 patents in his name; his technical vision helped him build and grow one of the most successful semiconductor companies in the world.
